Dylan's Take

Picture this: You're standing in front of the Basilica of St. Lawrence, and your architecture-loving friend is having their own 'Da Vinci Code' moment, except instead of Tom Hanks solving puzzles, it's you geeking out over the largest freestanding elliptical dome in North America. I get it — I literally stop mid-run sometimes just to stare at the S&W Building's Art Deco details. This city is basically an outdoor architecture museum, and the best part? Most of it survived because we were too broke to tear it down after the Depression. Sometimes financial disaster leads to architectural treasure, period.
